Shoshone Falls has been on my radar since 2017, when we were in the area and didn’t have time to stop. I made sure to include it in our itinerary for our Montana road trip this summer, which I’ll write more about soon.
This is a beautifully maintained city park owned by Twin Falls, Idaho. The cost is just $5 per car! It’s dog-friendly, wheelchair-accessible and has RV day parking. What’s not to love?
At 212 feet tall and 900 feet wide, Shoshone Falls is one of the largest natural waterfalls in the U.S. It’s taller than Niagara Falls!

In 1974, Evil Knievel attempted to jump the Snake River Valley two miles from the falls. His parachute malfunctioned, so he didn’t make it, but you can visit the jump site and see the ramp.
Spring is the best time to visit when the runoff is high. Stay tuned to learn more about our road trip!

I really want to go here! I had never heard about it until your trip. And I am going to guess it wasn’t that busy, being Idaho.

It wasn’t too busy, especially compared to national parks. There was plenty of parking. Maybe 20 people there at the same time we were.
